Reports on Wednesday night suggest Bolton forward Marvin Sordell is set to join Charlton Athletic on loan.
Sordell joined Wanderers from Watford for a fee of around £3million in January 2012, but has failed to adjust to his new life in the north west. On the pitch, he has played just 29 games for the Trotters, scoring eight goals - including one in a 3-2 defeat at Charlton last March.
Addicks boss Chris Powell is a long-term admirer of the 22-year-old, having made an enquiry for the player in January.
Sordell has performed well in pre-season, scoring three times, but has been granted his wish of a return to London. The deal has yet to be ratified, although it is expected to through on Thursday. Should it be confirmed in time, Sordell could make his Charlton debut when they face Bournemouth - a side he is reported to have turned down - on Saturday.
