Bolton have completed the signing of defender Alex Baptiste on a free transfer from Blackpool.

Baptiste has signed a three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium and becomes Dougie Freedman's third signing of the summer - following deals for Marc Tierney and Hayden White.

The 27-year-old agreed terms with Wanderers in May but speculation in recent weeks suggested he could turn his back on the move in order to link up with newly-promoted Premier League side Crystal Palace. Those reports proved to be false, however, as the versatile defender linked up with his new teammates for pre-season training on Monday morning.

Baptiste spent five years at Blackpool and had the option of adding another year to his deal this summer, but has instead opted for a fresh challenge by moving to the Reebok Stadium.
