Reports on Sunday suggest Bolton are set to make a £9million move for Blackburn Rovers forward Jordan Rhodes.

A report in the Sunday People indicates an offer is being prepared for the Scotland international, although The Bolton News say the rumours are fabrication and Dougie Freedman is lining up bids for alternative players.

Rhodes joined Rovers in an £8million transfer from Huddersfield Town last summer and scored 28 goals in his debut season at Ewood Park. Despite his success, Blackburn may be forced into a summer sale due to UEFA's incoming Financial Fair Play Regulations.

Wanderers' record transfer currently stands at £8.2million, which was paid to Toulouse for Johan Elmander in the summer of 2008. The previous record stood at £8million, when Nicolas Anelka joined from Fenerbahce in 2006.
