Rob Lainton will leave Bolton Wanderers when his contract expires at midnight on Saturday.

Despite spending ten years at the Reebok Stadium, Lainton has failed to make a single senior appearance for the club.

The 24-year-old was tipped for a big future with Wanderers but injuries have halted his progress over the last 18 months. In that time, he has fallen behind Andy Lonergan and Jay Lynch in the pecking order and has been deemed surplus to requirements by Trotters boss Dougie Freedman.
