Wolverhampton Wanderers have opened talks with Bolton over a potential summer move for Sam Ricketts.
After returning from a career threatening Achilles injury in late 2011, Ricketts has struggled to recapture his best form and found himself in and out of the Bolton side last season.
With Blackpool's Alex Baptiste set to arrive at the Reebok Stadium next week, Ricketts' position at right-back is under serious threat and Dougie Freedman is ready to listen to offers for the Wales international.
Should a move to Molineux materialise Ricketts would be reunited with Kenny Jackett, who took him from Telford to Swansea City in 2004.
The 31-year-old has made 114 appearances during a four-year spell at the Reebok Stadium and is one of the club's most senior professionals. However, with Freedman looking to introduce a new flavour of youth at the club, Ricketts could be lining up for a different Wanderers side when the new campaign begins in August.
