David Ngog has fuelled speculation over his future by indicating he is ready to leave Bolton and return to France.

Ngog joined Wanderers in a £4million move from Liverpool in the summer of 2011 and has 12 months left on his contract at the Reebok Stadium. Despite showing glimpses of potential during his two years with the Trotters, the Frenchman has struggled for consistency and missed the latter stages of last season with a dislocated shoulder.

Reports of a January move to Fulham failed to materialise but the 24-year-old has expressed an interest in returning to France, where he began his professional career with Paris Saint-Germain in 2006. Bordeaux are said to be keen on the forward, who has scored just 12 goals in 71 appearances for Bolton.

In an interview transcribed by Sky Sports, Ngog said: "I have a contract until 2014 with Bolton. If there is an opportunity for them to cash in on me and for me to play at the top level again, it will be fantastic.

"To return in France in Ligue 1 could be fantastic for me and my career. I have enjoyed my time in England so far and I can deliver at the top level."
