Craig Dawson has rejected talk of a return to Bolton, insisting he is fully focused on establishing himself at West Bromwich Albion.

Dawson spent three months on loan at the Reebok Stadium this season, making 16 appearances as Wanderers moved away from relegation trouble and into contention for the play-offs.

He won many admirers during his time with the Trotters, but returned to the Hawthorns in late-April and played 90 minutes in the Baggies 1-0 defeat at Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Bolton fans are keen to see Dougie Freedman make an approach for the England under-21 international this summer, but Dawson has set his sights on playing Premier League football at West Brom.

"I have got some games under my belt now and, hopefully, I can play the next couple of games and put a marker down for next season," Dawson told West Brom's official club website.

"It was always something we talked about; to go away and play some games, come back and really push in the last few games of the season.

"Hopefully, that's what I can do then I’ll be working hard over the summer.

"I enjoyed my time at Bolton. It was the next stage in my development, to get some games under my belt. I played 16 games and it made me come back a lot fitter and stronger.

"I have learned a lot from playing Championship games. It's improved my fitness and match sharpness and hopefully I can take that into the last couple of games.

"But West Brom is my club, I enjoy it here, and nights like Tuesday, playing against Manchester City, are a great opportunity for me."
