Stuart Holden played 62 minutes on his Sheffield Wednesday debut, as the Owls secured a 2-1 derby victory over Barnsley at Hillsborough.

Holden enjoyed a comfortable debut in the centre of the Wednesday midfield before being replaced by Giles Coke shortly after the hour.

Gary Madine put the hosts ahead shortly after Holden's departure, before former Bolton midfielder Jermaine Johnson doubled the lead with 13 minutes to go. Jacob Mellis pulled one back for the Tykes in stoppage time, but Wednesday held on to claim the three points - as they hover just two places and one point above the Championship relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Tom Eaves played the full 90 minutes for Shrewsbury Town as they drew 2-2 at Carlisle United on Good Friday. The visitors led twice at Brunton Park but had to settle for a point, thanks to a second half brace from Lee Miller.

Michael O'Halloran was an unused substitute as Tranmere's dismal run of form continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield United - who leapfrogged Rovers in the League One table.
