Bolton look set to complete the signing of Slovakia under-21 international Jan Gregus on loan until the end of the season.

Last week, we revealed that the Banik Ostrava midfielder had been on trial with the Trotters and impressed enough to persuade boss Dougie Freedman into opening talks over a move.

Wanderers were granted permission to speak with Gregus and Banik official Michal Dyml believes a deal is likely to be completed in the coming days.

"Gregus' move to Bolton is 90 per cent done and only an administrative issue can ruin it, "Dyml told Czech newspaper, Blesk.

"I cannot reveal any details from this deal, but if the player should stay at Bolton beyond the first year, then we would reach more interesting figures."

Gregus is the current captain of the Slovakia under-21 side and he admits he is looking forward to joining the club, who recently went to watch him play for his country.

"The coach (Freedman) saw me in the match against Romania and wanted me to come," Gregus said. "I am not interested in joining any other clubs.

"The facilities at Bolton are superb. The training centre is top class but that's something they are used to here, I guess.

"The stadium is just beautiful and I'm looking forward to my new spell.

"I'm happy. If someone had told me during the autumn that I would be at a Championship club in the spring, I would not have believed it."
