Bolton youngsters Gregg Wylde and Michael O'Halloran played against each other on New Year's Day, as Tranmere Rovers won 1-0 at Bury.

The Scotland under-21 internationals represented rival teams at Gigg Lane, with O'Halloran playing the full 90 minutes as Rovers claimed the three points which kept them on top of the League One table.

Andy Robinson scored the only goal of the game ten minutes after the break, which plunges the Shakers deeper into the relegation mix.

Wylde played the majority of the game for the hosts. He spent 84 minutes on the pitch, before manager Kevin Blackwell replaced him with Craig Jones.
