Philip Gibbs will take charge of the New Year's Day fixture between Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.

Wanderers begin 2013 with their first trip to Leeds since November 2003, when goals from Kevin Davies and Stelios Giannakopoulos gave Sam Allardyce's side a 2-0 victory in the Premier League.

Gibbs, who will referee Tuesday's fixture, has taken charge of 21 matches this season. In total, he has issued 53 yellow and two red cards.

His last outing came at Macclesfield Town on Saturday, as the Silkmen advanced to the third round of the FA Cup with a 4-1 victory over Barrow at Moss Rose.

Gibbs, who originates from the West Midlands, has never taken charge of a Bolton game. The last time he refereed a match involving Leeds was in February 2012, when the Whites played out a goalless draw with Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Below are the full list of officials for Tuesday's fixture:

Referee: Philip Gibbs
Assistant Referees: Nigel Smith, Guy Stretton
Fourth Official: Kevin Mattocks
