Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore has confirmed his desire to extend Michael O'Halloran's loan deal at Prenton Park.

O'Halloran made his seventh appearance for Rovers in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Scunthorpe United, as Moore's side ended 2012 at the top of League One.

The on-loan Bolton forward was substituted at half-time, with his replacement, Cole Stockton, scoring the only goal of the game on the hour.

Speaking after the match, Moore admitted he will speak to Bolton about extending the deal for the Scotland under-21 international, which is due to expire next weekend.

"We've spoken to Bolton about Michael," Moore told Tranmere's official club website. "We're hoping we can extend his loan for a month. I'm just waiting on their manager to come back to me."

Meanwhile, Bury continue to struggle at the wrong end of the division. The Shakers lost 2-1 at Carlisle United on Saturday, with loanee Gregg Wylde playing 85 minutes at Brunton Park.

Tom Eaves was set to play his final game for Bristol Rovers in their trip to Cheltenham Town, but, for the second time in four days, their game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
