Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has opened the door for a potential move to Bolton.

Silvestre has been without a club since leaving German side Werder Bremen in the summer and after a short training spell with Arsenal, he is now maintaining his fitness with United.

The 35-year-old admits a playing return to Old Trafford is not an option, but he would be willing to listen to offers from Championship clubs based in the north west of the country.

"I am still waiting for offers," Silvestre told Sky Sports News Radio. "I am getting fit now and I have that chance to get a last contract.

"I went to Germany and played for two years with Werder Bremen and I came back to England, and trained a bit with Arsenal and now I am in the North West training with United.

"England is kind of my home now, I have had nine years here.

"I am ready and that is all I can do. You can't say no to a team that is willing to show an interest, and so the Championship now with all the clubs around Manchester, if I could play for the likes of Blackburn and Bolton - why not?"
