Bolton will play host to Sunderland in January, after the two clubs were drawn together in the third round of the FA Cup.

The two sides have met in six seperate seasons of the competition, with five of those coming in the third round. History is not on Wanderers' side, however, as they have been the side to exit the competition on four of those occasions.

In total, Bolton and Sunderland have met eight times in the FA Cup, including replays, with the Black Cats winning five of those games. Wanderers' have come out on top just once, when they won 1-0 at Roker Park in January 1980.

The bad omens continue for Bolton supporters, with their side currently without a win in eight games against Sunderland, in all competitions, dating back to November 2008, when they ran out 4-1 winners at the Stadium of Light.

The latest meeting between the two clubs will take place on the weekend of January 5th/6th 2013.
