Andy Lonergan has been ruled out until after Christmas after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

Lonergan picked up the injury in training last week and subsequently missed the games against Bristol City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 29-year-old joined the club from Leeds United in the summer, but has been restricted to just one first team appearance - in the Capital One Cup defeat at Crawley Town in August.

Jay Lynch has been named on the bench in Lonergan's absence, but Rob Lainton is closing in on a return to action after spending much of the last 12 months on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
