Bolton have been granted permission to speak to Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman over the vacant position at the Reebok Stadium.
A statement on Palace's official website earlier on Monday said they had rejected the advances of Wanderers, but an updated statement now confirms Freedman is free to speak to the Trotters over succeeding Owen Coyle as manager.
The updated statement on Palace's website said: "Following further discussions throughout the day, Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that permission has been granted for Dougie Freedman to speak to Bolton Wanderers regarding their vacant managerial position."
