Birmingham City have completed the signing of former Bolton defender Paul Robinson on a one-month contract.

Robinson has been without a club since leaving the Reebok Stadium at the end of last season, following a three year spell with the Wanderers.

The 33-year-old has been training with the Blues over the last couple of weeks and has done enough to convince manager Lee Clark into handing him a deal at St Andrew's.

After the player put pen to paper, Clark admitted the former West Bromwich Albion man will give valuable experience to a squad that has been ravaged by injuries.

"I'd like to thank the Board for allowing me to bring in Paul, an experienced defender who will enhance our playing squad," Clark told Birmingham's official club website.

"While I have been impressed with the progress of our young defenders, recent injuries had left us with just two fit senior defenders so the acquisition of Paul was one we needed to make.

"As a senior professional, Paul will give us that added experience which is always useful in this competitive division."
