Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell has admitted he will 'look into' the possibility of signing former Bolton midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.

Reo-Coker has been without a club since activating a release clause in his Wanderers contract following their relegation to the Championship at the end of last season.

He has been linked with a move abroad and even a return to the Reebok Stadium in recent weeks, but Addicks boss Powell has confirmed he will look into the possibility of taking the 28-year-old to the Valley.

"I played with Nigel many years back and he has been in the Premier League," Powell told News Shopper.

"I know he doesn't have a club, I saw that on TV, and I know he is without a club like a lot of good Premier League players, as we've bought one in with Ricardo Fuller.

"But no, there is nothing imminent with regards to Nigel but it is something I will look into."

Reo-Coker spent just one season with the Trotters prior to his release. He scored three goals in 42 appearances for the club and was voted as Player of the Season by Burnden Aces readers.
