A statue of the late Nat Lofthouse will be unveiled at the Reebok Stadium on 27th August 2013, on what would have been his 88th birthday.

After consulting with Lofthouse's family, Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the news exactly 12 months prior to the unveiling. Today would have been the Lion of Vienna's 87th birthday.

Speaking on behalf of his family, Vivien Lofthouse said: "We had quite a few discussions because dad had so many significant dates and moments in his career both with Wanderers and for England. But overall, his birthday was our preferred date."

Supporters are urged to continue donating to the Nat Lofthouse Memorial Fund. You can find more information on the fund by clicking here.
