Leeds United have completed the signing of former Bolton forward El-Hadji Diouf on a non-contract basis.

Diouf was a free agent after leaving Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season and is in contention for his debut when Neil Warnock's side host Shrewbury Town in the Capital One Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Following on from a successful loan spell at the Reebok Stadium, the former Senegal international joined Wanderers from Liverpool for a then club record fee of £4million in June 2005 and went on to score 24 goals in 136 games for the club.

He joined Sunderland for £2.6million in the summer of 2008, but left for Blackburn Rovers six months later. He would later go on to represent Glasgow Rangers and Doncaster, but will now play his football in the npower Championship with Leeds.

Diouf could face his former club when Leeds visit the Reebok on October 2nd.
