Crawley Town have completed the signing of former Bolton defender Mark Connolly.

Connolly joined Wanderers in the summer of 2009 but failed to make a single senior appearance for the club and was released at the end of last month following the expiration of his contract.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the League One newcomers, much to the delight of Crawley's Director of Football, Steve Coppell.

"He is a talented footballer who is very versatile and is looking to start his career afresh with the club," Coppell said.

"We believe he has a lot to offer and that he will flourish in our squad."
