Bolton Wanderers have announced a steady rise in season ticket sales, with the current total standing at over 11,000.

Despite the club's relegation to the Championship, more than 3,000 season tickets have been sold in the last week, meaning the current total exceeds the number sold this time last year.

More than 43% of purchases have been via the interest free Direct Debit option and Wanderers' Head of Public Sales Richard Gough is delighted with the support shown.

"Once again, Wanderers fans continue to show great support for the club and the team," Gough told the club's official website.

"In the week leading up to the early purchase deadline we sold more than 3,000 season tickets and that now means we have topped more than 11,000 season ticket holders and that we continue on track with our Premier League totals from previous years.

"Season tickets remain on sale and supporters still have the option to spread the cost of their season ticket over a seven-month period, interest-free."

Bolton boss Owen Coyle was also thankful to the fans, who he admits could have lost patience with him and the players following their relegation.

"Our fans backed us through thick and thin last season with constant support," Coyle said.

"It is testament to the loyalty of Wanderers fans that so many have already taken up their season tickets, especially with the current economic pressures.

"The Reebok is a tough place to come and play when the fans are in full voice and that backing will be essential next season."
