Sam Ricketts' strike against Wolverhampton Wanderers last December has been voted 2011/12 BWFC Goal of the Season by Burnden Aces readers.

After ten months out with an Achilles injury, Ricketts marked his return to the side in stunning style.

He was allowed to push forward deep into Wolves territory and after cutting inside from the left flank, he unleashed an unstoppable curling strike into the far corner of Wayne Hennessey's goal.

Mark Davies' goal against Wigan Athletic in February finished second in the poll, while Gary Cahill's opening day strike at Queens Park Rangers came third.

Below are the full results of this year's Goal of the Season poll:
24.85% - Sam Ricketts v Wolverhampton Wanderers
16.36% - Mark Davies v Wigan Athletic
15.76% - Gary Cahill v Queens Park Rangers
