Alonso Praises Fantastic Support

Marcos Alonso believes Bolton must win promotion back to the Premier League and reward the club's supporters for their backing.

After drawing 2-2 at Stoke City a fortnight ago, Wanderers suffered relegation to the Championship.

Alonso says the club can't hide behind their injury list and admits they must bounce back to the top flight as soon as possible.

"The fans have been fantastic all season," Alonso posted on his official website.

"The whole squad really appreciates their support, even clapping and chanting for us after Sunday's final whistle (at Stoke). We have to get back to the Premier League as soon as possible for them.

"It has been a tough season for the club with the amount of injuries we have had. I, myself, have suffered on that front, but there are no excuses.

"We'll go away, dust ourselves down and come back better players and a better team.

"Like with any club, there will be some changes this summer. I would also like to send my good wishes to the players moving on."
