Bolton boss Owen Coyle believes Lee Chung-Yong is closing in on a comeback to action after nine months out with a broken leg.

The South Korea international suffered the injury in Wanderers' pre-season fixture at Newport County last July and is yet to return to the game.

With five weeks of the Premier League season still to go, Coyle is hopeful of having the 23-year-old in his plans, but admits his return to training will give an indication of when he will be available for selection.

"Chung-Yong Lee continues to do some work on the grass," Coyle told the club's official website. "In a few weeks' time, hopefully he can join in and train with ourselves.

"From there we will be able to see if he can make anything before the end of the season."
