Muamba Critically Ill In Hospital

Fabrice Muamba is in a critical condition after suffering a heart attack during Bolton's FA Cup tie at Tottenham Hotspur.

Muamba collapsed to the ground after 41 minutes of the game at White Hart Lane and after several minutes of emergency treatment on the field, he was stretchered into an ambulance and transferred to hospital.

A statement on Bolton Wanderers' official website read: "Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Fabrice Muamba has been admitted to the Heart Attack Centre at the London Chest Hospital where he is currently in a critically ill condition in intensive care.

"No further information will be issued at this stage. The club has requested the media to respect his family's privacy at this time."
