Darren Pratley scored his first Premier League goal last weekend and he admits he is happy to help the team in any way he can.

Since joining Bolton on a free transfer from Swansea City last summer, Pratley has endured a disappointing debut season in the top flight having been in and out of Owen Coyle's team.

He scored his first goal for Wanderers in an FA Cup tie against his former employers in January and notched his first league goal for the Trotters in the 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Pratley believes hard work is a big part of his game, but he is always determined to score his share of goals.

"It's always nice to get your first Premier League goal, especially in those circumstances," Pratley told the club's official website.

"In those kinds of games we have to be patient because they aren't the prettiest. Everyone is fighting for their lives and we hung in there.

"It was a good ball by Tim (Ream) because he could have just thrashed it across the goal but he chipped it into the six-yard box nicely.

"It's good to score goals because that is part of my game but if I can help the team in other ways I am happy. If I'm working hard and play my part, I will always be pleased."
