Paul Robinson's days as a Bolton player appear to be numbered after the defender joined Leeds United on a one-month loan deal.

The 33-year-old hasn't featured in the Premier League since Wanderers' Boxing Day defeat to Newcastle United and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, it looks like the switch to Elland Road could be the start of the end for Robinson.

The former West Bromwich Albion man will stay at United until 6th April 2012 and could make his debut for Neil Warnock's side when they make the trip to Hull City on Tuesday evening.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle believes the move will benefit the player and also give Leeds a boost in their push for promotion to the top flight.

"It's a good opportunity for Paul to play games," Coyle told the club's official website.

"He's a thoroughly model professional and naturally has been frustrated at not playing.

"This move keeps him match sharp and Leeds will benefit from his considerable top-flight experience."

The Leeds boss was also pleased to complete the deal, admitting he had been after the player since being appointed at Elland Road last month.

"I've been looking to see if I can get one or two leaders in," Warnock said.

"Paul is a player who I have had my eye on for a couple of weeks - since I came in - but for whatever reason we just couldn't quite get it over the line.

"Now we've been able to do that I'm delighted. This is a great club for him and it gives us a chance to have a look at him with a view to next season."

Robinson has made 87 appearances for Bolton since joining from West Brom in the summer of 2009 and now looks set to leave the club at the end of the campaign.
