Bolton boss Owen Coyle has confirmed Mark Davies has been struggling with a hamstring injury for 'three or four weeks'.

Davies was forced from the field late on in the 2-0 victory at Millwall and missed the weekend defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge because of the problem.

Coyle has confirmed the 24-year-old was sent for a scan on the injury and he hopes the midfielder will return to his best upon his return to fitness.

"The hamstring has been bothering him for the last three or four weeks, so we sent him for a scan to make sure we stayed on top of it," Coyle told The Bolton News.

"It isn't that his hamstring has gone or anything but he has felt it for about two or three weeks.

"Truth be told, he hasn't been at this best during that time either.

"He can get through games but we need Mark Davies driving past people like he was prior to the problem and that's why we have to make sure he's available and 100 per cent."
