Reports on transfer deadline day suggest Kevin Davies has been offered a new contract at the Reebok Stadium.

The 34-year-old has been linked with a move to Sunderland and Wanderers are known to have rejected at least one bid from the Black Cats for the one-time England international.

Martin O'Neill is ready to offer Davies an 18-month contract at the Stadium of Light, but speculation has emerged indicating Bolton are hopeful of keeping their captain by offering him a new deal.
