Sammy Lee could be set for a sensational return to Bolton Wanderers, according to reports on Sunday.
Lee was sacked as Bolton manager in 2007 after just 14 games in charge at the Reebok Stadium but may be about to make a surprise return to the club.
The 52-year-old ended his playing career with Bolton and was brought back to the club in 2005 as assistant to Sam Allardyce after Phil Brown had left to become manager of Derby County.
Lee would later take over the managerial role from Allardyce in April 2007 but was sacked after just six months in charge at the Reebok Stadium following a poor run of results.
Despite his poor record as Trotters boss, Wanderers are thought to be keen on bringing Lee back to the Reebok where he would work alongside Jimmy Phillips, Tony Kelly and David Lee in the club's academy setup.
