Kevin Davies admits he has not been offered a new contract at Bolton and is unsure if he will still be at the club next season.

The Wanderers captain's current deal at the Reebok Stadium expires at the end of the campaign and he has recently been linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window.

The 34-year-old has failed to start any of the club's last five Premier League games, but scored on his return to the side as Owen Coyle's men clinched a 2-0 victory over Macclesfield Town in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.

Davies admits he will continue to give his best for the Trotters in the hope of securing a new deal at the club he has represented since 2003.

"Obviously, I am disappointed not to be playing," Davies said. "But my performances haven't been good enough to stay in the team.

"I keep training as hard as I can and when these opportunities come along, try and do my best.

"It's January and there is speculation about all players out of contract and I am no different.

"There has been nothing offered here as yet and I have no idea what the future will be. I understand the position we are in in the league and there are a few players out of contract.

"In the next few weeks and months I'm sure the club will make a decision on those players.

"I can only say I will be doing my utmost to work hard to get the club out of this position and if we get into a healthier position and I get back to performing to a decent level, then I am hopeful we will get a renewal here."
