Jack Sampson has joined League Two side Southend United on a one-month loan deal.

The Bolton forward penned a new contract at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2013.

As part of the conditions of signing a new deal, Sampson has now linked up with the Shrimpers and will spent the next month at Roots Hall, with a view to staying for the rest of the campaign.

Posting on his official Twitter page, Sampson said: "Just arrived at #Southend to start my loan move. Looking forward to the next few weeks ahead!"

Sampson is a regular in the Wanderers reserves side but has yet to make his senior debut for the club.
