The rumour mill was back in full swing on Wednesday as day four of the January transfer window once again sparked controversy with the Bolton fans.

So far this month we have seen the likes of Real Madrid and Crawley Town involved in the speculation. Wednesday's transfer gossip consists of clubs more commonly known to Wanderers supporters, with Chelsea, Watford and West Bromwich Albion all involved.

Controversy struck on Monday as speculation emerged linking Mark Davies with a loan move to Championship play-off hopefuls Hull City.

The rumours were quickly struck down by Wanderers fans but The Sun believe a move could be on, although the KC Stadium will not be his destination.

According to the newspaper, Davies is attracting interest from West Brom boss Roy Hodgson, who may decide to make a £4million move for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder.

Another Wanderers player who has been linked with a move away from the Reebok Stadium this month is Gary Cahill.

Bolton accepted an offer from Chelsea for the England international last week, but talks over a move appear to have stalled as the two parties struggle to meet on personal terms.

According to the Daily Express, Cahill is demanding an incredible £120,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues only willing to offer £70,000.

Earlier this week, the 26-year-old was linked with a move to Liverpool. Chelsea still looks to be Cahill's most likely move and a decision, either way, is expected to be made before the start of next week.

Meanwhile, Bolton have been linked with a move for Watford striker Marvin Sordell, who is a current England under-21 international.

Sordell has impressed for the Hornets this season, notching up seven goals before the halfway stage of the campaign. talkSPORT believe Bolton, Blackburn and Newcastle are all interested in signing the 20-year-old, who may be forced to leave Vicarage Road due to the club's poor financial state.
