Rumour Mill: January 3 - Review

Following Monday's controversial rumours, the third day of the January transfer window passed by without much to discuss.

Speculation linking Bolton midfielder Mark Davies with a move to Hull City brought the rumour mill to life yesterday, but talk of a move to the Tigers has since died down.

Gary Cahill remains a Bolton player for the time being, with all the news from day three of the window being all about possible incomings at the Reebok Stadium.

Tuesday's transfer gossip involves Racing Genk and the scarcely known Ghanaian Premier League side, New Edubiase United. It just wouldn't be the rumour mill without such names.

We kick off with a rumour that initially appeared in the Daily Mail at the weekend.

The rumour, which has been rehashed by Click Lancashire, links Bolton with a move for the unfortunately named Daniel Toszer.

Toszer, who can occupy any number of positions in defence or midfield, has an impressive CV of clubs on his record after previously representing Debrecen, Galatasaray, Ferencvaros and AEK Athens before moving to Genk in June 2008.

A current Hungary international, Toszer's contract with the Belgian champions expires at the end of the season and Trotters boss Owen Coyle may be ready to make a move for the 26-year-old, who is also courting interest from Fulham.

Wanderers transfer gossip has been tough to uncover on Tuesday and the only other rumour of the day comes from the same source.

As well as linking Bolton with a move for Toszer, Click Lancashire believe the club could also make a move for African prodigy Emmanuel Awuah Baffour.

Baffour currently leads the goalscoring charts in the Ghanaian Premier League and is attracting interest from around Europe and Africa.

Should Wanderers decide to make a move for the 21-year-old, they could face competition from Egyptian side Al Masry and German outfit, Freiburg.
