The owner of Bolton Wanderers, Eddie Davies, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's New Year's honours list.
Davies, who resigned as a director of the club on Christmas Eve, made his name by selling domestic appliances before taking over as owner of the Trotters in 2003.
Davies, who was originally from the Little Lever area of Farnworth, Bolton, was awarded an OBE in 2000 for his services to industry.
He has been included on the New Year's honours list of 2012 for his services to charity and will be presented with his CBE at a ceremony later in the year.
