Bolton host Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, with both teams knowing victory could put them on top of the Premier League.

Wanderers opened the season with a 4-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers last weekend, a result which saw them lead the way in the early standings.

City had to wait until Monday before starting their campaign and they also claimed a 4-0 success over newly promoted opposition, Swansea City.

As a result of Saturday's games, the two sides now occupy fifth and sixth place, respectively, and they will both be looking to continue their fine starts to the season.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle is likely to name an unchanged side from the success at Loftus Road, with loan signing Tuncay Sanli still unavailable as he continues to wait for a work permit.

Ivan Klasnic is expected to continue alongside Kevin Davies in attack, with support in midfield coming in the form of Chris Eagles, Fabrice Muamba, Nigel Reo-Coker and former City star, Martin Petrov.

Darren Pratley and Mark Davies will be hopeful of a start, but the impressive performances of Muamba and Reo-Coker last weekend mean they are likely to retain their places.

Ricardo Gardner is doubtful with a groin injury and is likely to join fellow midfielders Lee Chung-Yong, Sean Davis and Stuart Holden on the sidelines.

Paul Robinson, Zat Knight, Gretar Steinsson and reported City target, Gary Cahill, should start infront of Jussi Jaaskelainen's goal.

Another injury absentee for Wanderers is Tyrone Mears, who broke his leg in training less than a week after joining the club.

Despite speculation regarding a move away from the club all summer, Carlos Tevez could make his first appearance of the season for the visitors.

The Argentina international returned to training this week, but he may be forced to settle for a place on the bench as Sergio Aguero starts alongside Edin Dzeko in attack.

Nigel de Jong is rated as 50/50 and will be put through a late fitness test, with Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry and David Silva expected to complete the midfield.

Wanderers target Shaun Wright-Phillips is likely to be excluded from the City squad, amid reports he is set to leave the Etihad Stadium before the closure of the transfer window.
