Bolton boss Owen Coyle admits he is still keen on bringing Shaun Wright-Phillips to the Reebok Stadium.

The Wanderers boss has been a long-term admirer of the Manchester City winger and believes a deal could be struck before the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month.

Wright-Phillips was left out of the City squad that faced Swansea City on Monday evening and he is likely to be absent again on Sunday when Roberto Mancini's side visit the Reebok.

Stoke City, Wigan Athletic and French side Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be interested in the 29-year-old, but Coyle remains hopeful that the England international will soon be added to the Trotters ranks.

"You can understand with the nature of us playing Manchester City this week, it would be difficult to do any business with them," Coyle said.

"Without going overboard, he's a player we'd love to bring to the football club.

"There's no issue, I don't think, with his willingness to come, or ours to have him.

"I think the club is in a good place and in terms of the football side, I've got no doubt Shaun would love to come here. We'd certainly love to have him.

"I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to know there is a difference between the salaries at Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers, so hopefully if we can cross that bridge, the next few days should be a lot clearer.

"I may have a word with Roberto (Mancini) before the game but I don't think the words are the issue.

"I would hope there is a willingness, having spent a long time chasing him."
