Tuncay Sanli will not make his Bolton debut against Manchester City on Sunday as he continues to wait for a work permit.

The Turkey international is set to join Wanderers on a season-long loan from German side VfL Wolfsburg, but cannot play for the club until he is granted a permit by the British Embassy in Germany.

The 29-year-old has been in Dusseldorf since Tuesday and confirmed on his Twitter page that he will not be lining up at the Reebok Stadium this weekend.

"Bad news, I will not be available for the City game," Tuncay said.

"I'm still in Germany waiting for the Embassy to process my VISA. This is completely and utterly ridiculous.

"I can't believe I have already missed two games because of my VISA as I am eligible, having been selected for more than 80% of games for Turkey in the last two years."

Owen Coyle's side face Macclesfield Town in the Carling Cup next Wednesday. If Tuncay is not available for selection, he would almost certainly come into contention for the trip to Liverpool next weekend.
