Bolton have completed the signing of Nigel Reo-Coker on a free transfer from Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract at the Reebok Stadium and becomes Owen Coyle's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Darren Pratley from Swansea City.

The former Wimbledon and West Ham United man will go straight into the squad to face Bury at Gigg Lane on Wednesday evening.

Speaking about his latest recruit, Trotters boss Coyle admitted he was delighted to have captured the experienced midfielder.

"We're delighted to have signed Nigel," Coyle told the club's official website.

"He's got the quality, drive and desire to compete at the highest level in the Barclays Premier League and I'm delighted that we have been able to bring him to the club."

The player echoed the views of Coyle, admitting he was ready to knuckle down and get straight to work, starting at Gigg Lane.

"I spoke with the gaffer and he outlined his plans and how he wants the club to progress," Reo-Coker said.

"I want to be part of that and I'm looking forward to meeting up with the lads and getting to work."
