Tom Eaves' knee injury isn't as bad as first feared, according to Bolton boss Owen Coyle.

Eaves picked up the injury in the friendly victory over Orlando City last week and it was feared the youngster could be missing for upwards of a year.

Wanderers held concerns over the former Oldham Athletic man, with worries that the player had injured cruciate ligaments in his knee. However, Coyle has admitted the injury isn't too serious and he could be back playing before the end of September.

"We've had the scans and we don't think there has been any major damage," Coyle told The Bolton News.

"We're looking at one or two months as opposed to nine to 12, so obviously we're absolutely delighted."
