Ricardo Gardner looks set to leave Bolton and be officially announced as a West Ham United player on Thursday.

Gardner is out of contract at the Reebok Stadium and, despite being offered a new deal at the club, looks set to end his 13-year stay with the Trotters and reunite with former boss Sam Allardyce, who is now in charge at Upton Park.

West Ham were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season and announced on Wednesday that they hoped to bring two 'proven Premier League players' to London in the next 24 hours.

32-year-old Gardner has made more than 400 appearances for Wanderers since his move from Harbour View in 1998 and looks set to be joined in the Championship by former Bolton captain Kevin Nolan, who has agreed a move from Newcastle United.
