After impressing during a season-long loan at Wigan Athletic, Ali Al Habsi is adamant that he will not sit on the bench at Bolton next season.

The Oman international was allowed to swap the Reebok for the DW Stadium at the start of the campaign and immediately established himself as the Latics' first choice goalkeeper.

Al Habsi made just 18 appearances in four years for the Trotters prior to his loan switch and he admits he will not be happy playing second fiddle on his return, although he has yet to hold talks with any club, including Wigan, regarding a possible move.

"Regarding my situation, there are no serious negotiations with any club so far," Al Habsi wrote on Twitter.

"After the last match next week and whether we (Wigan) win or lose, I will be heading back to Bolton.

"Be sure I will not accept sitting on the bench next season with any of the clubs."
