Bolton boss Owen Coyle insists the team's goalkeeping position will be up for grabs next season, with no guarantees being made to anybody challenging for the role.

Jussi Jaaskelainen recently passed the 500 appearances mark for the club but was rested for last weekend's defeat at Blackburn Rovers, with Adam Bogdan taking the reigns at Ewood Park.

Bogdan has earned rave reviews following a string of impressive performances this season, as has Ali Al Habsi, who has spent the season on loan at local rivals Wigan Athletic.

Jaaskelainen will return for Saturday's visit of Sunderland to the Reebok Stadium, but Coyle admits each goalkeeper will be fighting for their place next season.

"Ali was allowed to go on loan to Wigan because I felt he'd been understudy for too long and he had to play," Coyle said.

"I knew the qualities he has as a goalkeeper, I also knew young Adam Bogdan is an outstanding keeper who's getting better. So for us it was always a win, win, win situation.

"When the season finishes at Wigan, and Al Habsi's been one of their best players this year, he'll return to Bolton Wanderers, and that's very clear.

"There's no problem regarding all the positions in our team. It's a fair fight. As a manager, I think the best one will play in that position."
