Jussi Jaaskelainen will return in goal against Sunderland on Saturday, Bolton boss Owen Coyle has confirmed.

Jaaskelainen sat out last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers, with Adam Bogdan the preferred choice between the sticks.

Coyle admits the decision to leave Jaaskelainen amongst the substitutes was down to the number of games the club have played in a short space of time, but says the Finn will return when Wanderers host the Black Cats at the Reebok Stadium this weekend.

"Jussi has been outstanding all season as he has been since day one at the football club," Coyle said.

"Given the last few weeks and the amount of games we have had in a short period of time, I told him that we were going to give young Adam a game at Blackburn. Being the professional that Jussi is, he was comfortable with it.

"Jussi will play in goals against Sunderland on Saturday. At the end of the day, that's the decisions you make as a manager and they were made for the right reasons."
