Jlloyd Samuel has joined Championship side Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season.

Samuel has failed to figure all season for Bolton after suffering a ruptured thigh during pre-season and has only just worked his way back to full fitness.

After falling behind Paul Robinson and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at the Reebok Stadium, Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has decided to allow the 29-year-old to gain regular first team football.

The former Aston Villa defender is out of contract at the Reebok in the summer, so if he impresses at the Cardiff City Stadium, a permanent switch could be the result.
