Owen Coyle has praised his players and the Bolton fans after Wanderers twice came from behind to record a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa.

Goals in either half from Darren Bent and Marc Albrighton had twice given Villa the lead at the Reebok Stadium, only for Gary Cahill to equalise on both occasions.

Ivan Klasnic netted a late winner, which moves the Trotters into sixth position in the Premier League, and Coyle believes the backing from the supporters boosted his players on to take the three points.

"I think today's game summed up the Barclays Premier League because those who were at the match would have loved every minute of it, and the Bolton fans will be delighted that we came out on the right side of the result," Coyle told the club's official website.

"I think we all accept that we can play a lot better than we did today and Aston Villa deserved credit because they worked hard and showed quality.

"If Aston Villa had scored the penalty to make it 3-1 then it would have been a long way back. But Jussi has made a tremendous save and we have drove ourselves forward. We were brave and the spirit we have pushed us on, culminating in great finishes to win us the game.

"We have a tremendous record at the Reebok - the fans know that and again they played their part.

"Sometimes supporters accept when the players have been magnificent, but when that isn't the case the players need the fans to spur them on, and that happened today.

"It was a coming together and although the game finished 3-2, it's fair to say that there could have been five or six more goals.

"We've got a goalscoring threat from all over the park, which at this level is vital but it was important that we got all three points this afternoon. You look at the nature of this league and all the other results today and realise that it could all tighten up pretty quickly."
