The Premier League takes a break this weekend as Bolton and Wigan face off for the first time in the FA Cup.

Since taking 11 points from a possible 15 in November, Wanderers have taken seven points from their last nine league games. As a result, a cup weekend may provide a welcome distraction.

The two sides have met twice already this season, with both games ending in 1-1 draws. The same result on Saturday would require the teams to replay at the DW Stadium.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle is expected to make several changes from the side which lost to Chelsea on Monday night, with David Wheater expected to make his debut alongside Zat Knight at the heart of the Wanderers defence.

Ivan Klasnic will be given a late fitness test after recovering from a groin injury, while Adam Bogdan should start between the sticks, giving Jussi Jaaskelainen a rest.

The likes of Rodrigo Moreno, Robbie Blake, Martin Petrov, Marcos Alonso, Tamir Cohen and Mark Davies will all be hopeful of a starting role at the Reebok Stadium, but there will be no return for Jlloyd Samuel or Ricardo Gardner who remain absent through injury.

Joey O'Brien and Sean Davis also remain on the sidelines.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez will also ring the changes for the tie, with Jordan Robinson, Daniel Redmond, Jordan Mustoe and Callum McManaman all expected to start after making their debuts for the club in the last round.

Gary Caldwell is expected to return after shaking off a slight knock, but there will be no place for goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, who cannot face Wanderers under the terms of his loan deal.
