Bolton have confirmed the release of Mustapha Riga, who has left the club by mutual consent.

Riga joined Wanderers from Levante in the summer of 2008 but failed to make an impact during his time at the Reebok Stadium, making just 22 appearances in his two-and-a-half year stay at the club.

His last appearance came in a 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Tottenham Hotspur last February.

A statement on the club's official website confirmed the release of the player, who looks set to join Spanish side Celta Vigo on a free transfer.

"Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Riga has left the club by mutual consent.

"The club would like to thank Riga for his services and wish him well for the future."
