Bolton boss Owen Coyle has reserved praise for Matt Taylor after he notched his first goal of the season on Boxing Day.

Taylor's goal against West Bromwich Albion was his first since April and Coyle believes the midfielder is finally reaching his top form after being left out of the side earlier in the season.

"I'm delighted for him," Coyle told The Bolton News.

"He's been hitting the woodwork and keepers have been making saves.

"Matty's always been known for getting in among the goals and I actually said to him before the game I had a feeling he would get his goal.

"You've got to give Chung-Yong Lee a lot of credit for that because he showed great awareness and composure when it looked like the chance had gone.

"But it was still a difficult finish and Matty's placed a great shot beyond Scott Carson."

Taylor is expected to keep his place in the team for Wednesday night's trip to Chelsea, keeping Martin Petrov among the substitutes.
